He then completed his degree at the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelors of Human Kinetics with a Specialization in Exercise Physiology. Josh finally graduated from the University of Alberta with his Master of Science in Physical Therapy.
Josh has an extensive athletics background - playing everything from competitive hockey, to college badminton, and everything in between. His love for sport, coaching, and training formed the foundation for what has become his true passion: Physiotherapy.
Josh started his career alongside some of Edmonton’s leading orthopaedic surgeons in a very busy knee-centric clinic. Here, he honed his skills in treating and diagnosing all things related to the knee, and this passion for knee rehabilitation continues to this day.
Most recently, Josh has developed a special interest in persistent/chronic pain, concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation. Recognizing the critical need for specialized care in these areas, he has completed advanced courses and training to enhance his therapeutic skills. This expertise allows Josh to provide targeted treatment to enable patients suffering from these conditions to regain their quality of life and return to optimal functioning.
Josh is deeply committed to furthering his understanding of physiotherapy and continuously explores new research and advancements in the field. By staying at the forefront of physiotherapy knowledge, Josh can offer his patients the most effective interventions and strategies for their unique needs.
Beyond his specialized training, Josh possesses a genuine warmth and empathy that make his patients feel at ease. He understands the physical and emotional challenges that individuals face during their recovery journey, and he strives to create a supportive and compassionate environment for every client. Josh believes in the power of collaboration and actively involves his patients in their treatment plans, empowering them to take an active role in their own healing process.
In addition to his clinical work, Josh enjoys sharing his expertise and educating others. He frequently mentors students from UBC as a clinical educator and is an advocate for the role physiotherapy plays in all facets of healthcare. By actively engaging with the community, Josh aims to empower individuals to prioritize their well-being and take proactive steps towards their recovery.
So whether you’re injured, post-op, recovering from a concussion or managing vestibular disorders, Josh is here to provide compassionate care, expert guidance, and the necessary tools for optimal recovery.
